Originally slated to be available in “late 2020” and then “March 2021,” King’s Bounty 2 may finally be released on August 24, 2021.
This will mark the first King’s Bounty game in over 6 years (the most recent one was 2014’s King’s Bounty: Dark Side) and will also be the first King’s Bounty game to be developed exclusively by 1C Company, who previously just produced the titles while Katauri developed them. While some are skeptical of 1C, others are more hopeful of 1C, given that they’ve also recently developed the acclaimed Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark, another SRPG, albeit an isometric one rather than a hexagonal one.
Personally, I’m looking forward to it. I have yet to play a bad KB game, and from the looks of it, I doubt KB2 will be the first. I believe it will be an appealing game for fans of Heroes of Might and Magic, Langrisser, hexagonal games like Berwick Saga or Wesnoth, and Western RPGs in general. You can definitely expect to see more King’s Bounty articles on SRPG Academy, that’s for sure!
